The Tier One Relationship Between Arcare and Sanctuary

First published: August 2024

We are proud to have served the aged care industry for nine years, placing aged care professionals across the country on temporary, contract and permanent assignments. Our established base of nursing professionals, working on every level from assistant in nursing to management, are familiar with our clients and have developed a fantastic rapport with the staff and residents.

Our metro temp team, who cover NSW and VIC, service the Arcare Aged Care homes, supplying staff on an ad-hoc/ shift filling basis. Our nursing team are very familiar with the fantastic service that Arcare provides the elderly population of Australia, who hold themselves to a premium provider within the aged care industry.

We spoke to Amy and Filio, rostering coordinators at separate Arcare homes in NSW and VIC, about the relationship between Arcare and Sanctuary.

Tell me about your experience working for Arcare – how long have you been with them and what is the part you play in agency staffing levels?

A: I’ve been at Arcare Kanwal for a year and a half, and I oversee the entire roster for the home. I manage all agency usage, and ensure that our care minutes requirements are met.

F: I work for Arcare Templestowe as their rostering coordinator. I organise the structure of the day and ensure the home is fully staffed with clinical and non clinical members to ensure our care minutes are met and each resident receives the high level of quality of care that they require. I have been with the organisation for a year and a half, with 5 months of these being at the Templestowe home.

What interaction do you have with agency staffing levels?

A: I speak to Jess, one of your fabulous recruitment consultants, on a daily basis with our staffing needs. The relationship began when a member of your team came to visit our home and it went from there.

F: 98% of the roster goes through me, so I am very familiar with agency nurses and get to know them over time. We have a portal that we advertise our shifts on, and as Sanctuary is sitting at Tier One, they receive the requests first.

How does Sanctuary fulfill your staffing needs?

A: They are just fantastic. Jess is just a superstar! I can call her at any time of the day and she will aim to fill our request as soon as possible. I go to her first and then open it up to other agencies afterwards. The calibre of staff is second to none, our residents ask about when Sanctuary staff are returning to the home.

F: They have always been great, and are so quick at responding. The consultants have definitely got used to our needs and we can see they think proactively, predicting our requirements for the day so they are always ready to help out where necessary. We have had many Sanctuary nurses return to our home, so there is definitely a solid two way relationship there – we are keen to have them back and they seem more than happy to return. Leyla has been fantastic. Whenever we’ve been pressured with last minute sick calls, she has been there to assist us when we have found ourselves in a sticky situation. We are thrilled to continue our relationship with her and Sanctuary!

Rohini, a PCA based in Victoria, regularly visits the Arcare homes, filling in gaps in their roster when needed.

What is your experience working with Arcare?

I usually go to the home in Maidstone, and I love it when shifts come up there. Arcare is a premium aged care provider, with their facilities displaying a high standard of living for their residents. The delivery of care is always high quality.

How do you find working with the management and team at the Arcare homes?

They are always so cooperative and helpful. I get given a full induction when I go somewhere new, telling me about the residents routines and an orientation so I know where everything is. I am always made to feel comfortable and get a full run through so I am ready for work.

If there are any issues, the management are so organised and always know what to do.

What is your view on the service that Arcare provides?

It’s fantastic. Everything from the food, to the leisure activities offered and the general areas to relax in. They are treated so well, and Arcare endeavors to ensure that each residents needs are met physically, emotionally and holistically. The homes are kept very clean and tidy, so it makes my job a lot easier!

We are proud to partner with a wonderful organisation that allows residents to live life to the fullest everyday. To find out more about our partnership and job opportunities around the country, contact us below:
