Enrolled Nursing Jobs on the Sunshine Coast FAQs

Enrolled nurses part of the healthcare industry, providing direct patient/resident care in an array of medical settings. The difference between an enrolled and registered nurse is their scope of practice - registered nurses have more responsibility than an enrolled nurse.

Enrolled nurses in aged care can work their way up, starting with an entry level role such as an Assistant in nursing/personal care worker, or by completing the relevant qualification needed as a first choice.

Our enrolled nursing roles are Australia wide. Across Australia, we have a network of homes across metro, regional, rural and remote areas.

Reach out today if you are looking for a role in the Sunshine Coast or in other parts of Queensland:

  • Bundaberg
  • Bribie Island
  • Brisbane
  • Cairns
  • Gold Coast
  • Toowoomba
  • Wide Bay

& more!

Pay rates are set by the Aged Care and Nurses Award. There are various pay brackets that are fixed in place based on your experience, location, job title and work environment.  A casual enrolled nurse's pay scale ranges between $31 - $76 per hour.

For short term contract assignments, we offer bonuses, incentives and allowances that vary per location. The aged care industry is evolving, with the roadmap for aged care reform leading to a pay rise for aged care workers in recent years, with changes to come.

Enrolled nurses are considered qualified to work with Sanctuary after a minimum of 6 months Australian aged care experience. Get in touch today for more options if you don't have this, as some of our homes are looking for newer grads.

Enrolled Nurses are required to have completed a Diploma of Nursing. This is generally a two year course completed at an educational institution, both of practical and theoretical assessments.

You can work as an enrolled nurse on a temporary/casual and contract basis. You can choose between gap filling shifts, whether it is last minute cancellations or booking in week blocks. Contract assignments are often full time placements beginning from 4 weeks in regional and remote areas of the country.

We have a Learning Management System (LMS) that allows for our casual nursing pool to educate and refresh their knowledge prior to working. This is regularly updated to reflect new practices and regulations and is role specific, at no cost to you.

Working on an ad-hoc/short term basis allows you to:

  • Structure your work day/week to your schedule
  • Through our contract roles, you can explore areas of the country whilst getting paid for it, with free travel and accommodation included.
  • Set your own work/life balance
  • A higher hourly rate than if you were a permanent employee
