Duties of an Enrolled Nurse in Aged Care

An EN (enrolled nurse) is a qualified healthcare professional who has obtained a Diploma of Nursing.
They work in the scope of their practice usually underneath a registered nurse and with
assistant in nursing/personal care workers to provide high quality care to residents.

Roles and responsibilities of an enrolled nurse include the following:

Providing routine care such as assisting with hygiene and ADLS (activities of daily living)
Administering medications
Reporting and care planning, which will document residents conditions and ongoing medical support required
Recording any changes to a resident and escalating this to the appropriate individual(s)
Liaising with doctors and other external parties when necessary
Providing support to families

Our ENs work on an ad-hoc basis, on AM, PM and night shifts. We have
an amazing team of enrolled nurses within Sanctuary and we are always looking for
passionate and committed individuals to join our community.
